First blog: Grammar Girl

Posted on: January 27, 2010

So this is my first blog, and I really hope that I’m doing it correctly. After looking at the Grammar Girl website I was really impressed. It looked fun and up to date with todays generations needs for grammar needs. We all learned about commas and capitalization in grade school, but after a while how much of that do you really remember? I mean I just had to go back and change the spelling from grammer to grammar. It is great to have a resource like this that goes back over the basics and other frequently asked questions in the world of grammar. I liked how she had the basics of  “lay versus lie” and “who versus whom”. A style book helps, but sometimes it is far more beneficial to see other peoples examples with corrections. I also really liked the quirkiness of it. For example, the funny errors article. It was funny and comforting at the same time to know everyone messes up. But what I liked most about this website was how animated it was. It is so much easier to look at something when it’s not dry black and white wording with Times New Roman font. Other educational/ school help websites could definetly learn alot from grammar girl!
