The Lead Lab

Posted on: March 3, 2010

For the Lead lab, I learned a lot about how to write creative and informative leads. I learned how important leads are because leads are what draw the reader’s attention.

I found the part about tension interested. Tension causes a good story, but tension that collides, ends up in conflict causing problems. You don’t want this.

I also liked the part talking about how long it takes to write a good lead. Sometimes you a lead with fly off your fingertips, when other times it can take a long time with a lot of revising. I think it’s funny that a short little sentence can take so much work and time.

The five W’s, an H and SW will make a good lead. Who, what, where, when, why are the five W’s. The H is the how, and the SW stands for so what. If you follow these guidelines it will help you make a good lead. I plan on using these in the future. Check it out! Heres the link!
